Timber is one of the most versatile materials used in garden and landscaping projects. From decking subframes and raised beds to pergolas, fencing, and garden structures, pressure-treated structural timber forms the backbone of outdoor builds that need to stand up to the British climate.
George Davies Turf stocks structural treated timber for trade and domestic customers across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, and the surrounding areas. Our timber is graded for structural applications and pressure-treated for outdoor use, giving it the durability needed for long-term garden installations. Whether you are building a decking subframe, constructing raised beds, or framing a pergola or garden structure, the right timber makes all the difference to how long it lasts.
All timber is available for delivery or collection from our depots in St. Albans and Olney. Contact our team if you need help selecting the right size or specification for your project.
High-quality products are only half the story at George Davies; expert delivery and after-care are just as important. From your first enquiry to the moment your timber arrives on site, every customer is looked after by our friendly, experienced team.

George Davies Turf stocks structural C24 treated timber in standard sizes used for garden projects. This includes 47x100mm (4×2) for joists and general framing, and 47x150mm (6×2) for primary bearers and longer-span applications. More sizes may be added over time.
Pressure-treated timber has had preservative forced deep into the wood under pressure. This protects it against rot, fungal decay, and insect attack, making it suitable for outdoor and above-ground use. It significantly extends the service life of garden structures compared to untreated timber.
Structural treated timber is used in a wide range of garden projects: decking subframes (bearers and joists), raised vegetable and planting beds, pergola and arch frames, garden room or shed bases, fencing frames, and general garden structures. Choosing the right size and grade for your project is important for safety and longevity.
