Because natural stone paving is porous, we recommend sealing your stone slabs to reduce moisture absorption. Our Linear Limestone Paving saves you that task, as it is manufactured and delivered pre-sealed with a water-based, breathable sealer.
This treatment provides an initial protective layer to help reduce the impact of moisture, staining from spillages, and general wear and tear. This also helps enhance and maintain the colour, appearance and performance of your paving slabs for years to come.
High-quality products are only half the story at George Davies; expert delivery and aftercare are just as important. From your first enquiry to the moment your Linear Limestone arrives, our friendly team looks after every customer.
We proudly service Olney, Bedford, St. Albans and the surrounding areas. Operating from our depots in Olney and St. Albans, we offer prompt, efficient delivery for homeowners and professional landscapers alike.
We safely stack each delivery of our Limestone paving onto rigid trucks equipped with forklifts. With the use of What3Words, we can place your porcelain slabs exactly where you need them (within reason).
Long, narrow tracks and gravel driveways are not a problem! Where possible, we can place stone products, turf pallets, and product bulk bags around the back of your property. All we ask is for 9 ft x 9 ft clear access so the forklifts can get through safely.
Our skilled drivers are highly trained, calm under pressure, and expert problem-solvers when it comes to difficult deliveries. If you have restricted areas, tight entrances, or specific requirements, please tell us when ordering and add notes to your online order.
Trust us when we say: our drivers truly make difficult deliveries easy!
Galala Linear Limestone Setts are long, narrow pieces of natural limestone. Measuring around 400 mm x 70 mm x 30 mm, they offer a modern alternative to traditional cobbles and can be used in many ways for creative paving patterns.
No. Thanks to the pre-sealant coating, Linear Limestone has a high slip resistance when wet or dry. The Pendulum Test Value (PTV) for Galala Limestone stands at 68 dry and 45 wet for excellent grip.

Proper ground preparation and installation will help your natural limestone setts stay secure and look their best for years to come.
Follow these easy steps to install Galala Linear Limestone like a pro:
Measure and mark the area where you’ll install the linear setts, then excavate to the required depth.
The depth should include the thickness of the setts as well as the subbase and mortar levels.
Using a spirit level, ensure the area you’re installing the limestone setts has suitable drainage.
This should include a slope (or fall) of 1:80 away from any buildings or structures.
Compact the ground and add a 30- 50 mm permeable drain mortar layer.
Alternatively, you can create a sharp sand and cement mix with a suitable bonding agent for the setts to adhere firmly to the subbase.
Following your pre-planned pattern, start in the middle and work your way out, keeping a 3-5mm gap between each sett.
Apply the appropriate bonding primer to the underside of the sett, then place it into position and tap it gently with a rubber mallet. Use a spirit level as you go to ensure they are level.
Once all the setts are laid, use a patio grout such as Azpects EasyJoint to fill the joints. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for a uniform and secure finish.
Use a non-acid stone cleaner to remove any installation residue. Apply a suitable natural stone sealer to reduce water absorption, protect the stone’s performance and appearance, and help extend its lifespan.
For the best results, we recommend using Azpects EasyJoint or EasyJoint Select to fill the joints between setts. Both options offer excellent durability, easy application, and a professional finish that complements the natural look of limestone setts.
