GDT&S Attend BizX 2026 as Best Retailer Finalists!

April 15^th-17^th saw the George Davies Turf & Stone team head to the ICC Wales for one of the UK’s most inspiring business events of the year, BizX 2026.

Hosted by ActionCOACH, the event, held over two days, celebrated the 15th anniversary of BizX with over 1,000 business leaders, featuring ideas, recognition, and big celebrations.

A Proud Moment: Best Retailer Finalists

A real highlight for GDT&S was being named a finalist in the Best Retailer category. GDT&S has always prided itself on the exceptional service offered to customers and on continually improving it – to be recognised for the efforts of the entire team, from customer services to drivers, is a special moment for the Olney-based business. While GDT&S didn’t take home the trophy, being shortlisted alongside leading businesses was a huge achievement.

Representing GDT&S were George Davies, Darren Cavaree, Brenten Loomes, Julie Drage, Izzy Johnston, Joanna Zawislak, and Ben Davies, all of whom enjoyed an incredible night. Hosted by Kirsty Gallacher, the black-tie event offers a brilliant opportunity to celebrate how far GDT&S has come.

Inspiring Voices and Innovative Ideas

Alongside the main awards night were two days of inspirational talks with an exceptional line-up of speakers, including Tim Campbell, Rory Sutherland and Sara Davies. The event closed with a powerful keynote from ex-England Football Manager Gareth Southgate, leaving attendees with plenty to contemplate and consider for future growth.

From practical insights to large-scale strategies, BizX provided key takeaways for all industries. More importantly, it provided a space for connection and collaboration with great networking, conversations, and a genuinely positive atmosphere.

Looking Ahead

George has always advocated for self-development in oneself and others. As he celebrates his 25^th anniversary and a growing team of 30, he understands the importance of continuous learning to provide better service across the board.
