Just weeks after announcing an exciting new chapter in the George Davies Turf & Stone story, the team joined their new Harrowden colleagues last Thursday, 23rd July, for their first official meet. The purpose of the event was to get to know one another, build relationships and celebrate a bright future together.
While George Davies and Harrowden have worked together for many years, this was the first opportunity for colleagues to meet in person. Following the recent partnership announcement, the meetup marked an important step, showcasing our joint values and strengthening the vision we both share.

Hosted at the beautiful White Mills Marina Boathouse, colleagues from both businesses enjoyed an evening of sunshine, great food and plenty of conversation in a relaxed setting, away from the workplace. We believe these occasions are essential for any organisation, so we wanted to establish this collaborative culture from the outset.
The afternoon began with a fun icebreaker designed to help everyone put names to faces – a daunting task no matter what setting you’re in! Each person picked a name tag from the opposite team’s hat before setting off to find their mystery colleague. It was a simple but effective way to spark conversations, introduce new faces and begin building one united team.
Throughout the evening, team members had the chance to learn more about one another, sharing insights into their roles, internal processes and customer relationships.
George Davies and Harrowden Director Chantall Ridd-Jones also addressed everyone during the evening, reflecting on the exciting opportunities ahead and thanking everyone for a warm welcome, positive attitude and commitment to this new adventure.
We’re looking forward to many more events like this, alongside working, learning and celebrating together for years to come.
