When it comes to seeding a lawn, you need a mixture that suits your individual needs. To create a luscious lawn, you need the best lawn seed. We have three types that guarantee incredible results. Seednova is a high-grade grass seed containing 25% ryegrass and 75% fescue. Conveniently, the exact combination that matches our premium Trident Turf. Green Velvet ® Lawn Seed is a premium quality seed produced by Barenbrug UK and has been tried and tested for over 100 years. Finally, our Green Velvet Shady Seed is a premium grass seed product that helps turf which is struggling to thrive in shady spots in your garden or outdoor space.

There are many different varieties of grass fertiliser on the market, however, some contain weed killers so it’s essential that you check before purchasing. One piece of advice we offer is ‘the richest the soil, the better the lawn growth. The poorer quality soil will require more feeding’. If you feed your lawn from spring to summer each year with a phased, slow-released fertiliser, like our Envy Fertiliser, you can gradually release vital nutrients to give your lawn that stunning green colour for months to come. Alternatively, our Nourish Autumn/Winter Fertiliser consists of slow-releasing pellets, with a specific formula to maintain a healthy garden throughout winter.

You can skip the shipping fees with free local pickup at Olney (Newton Lodge, Clifton Reynes, Olney MK46 5DS) or St Albans (N Orbital Rd, St Albans AL2 1DL)

After placing your order and selecting local pickup & date at checkout, your order will be prepared and ready for pick up on that date chosen. With live products (Such as turf) we recommended collecting it and laying it on the same day. Check our terms and condition for more details.

Our in-store pickup hours are 8:00am – 4:00pm on Monday to Friday. Please have your order confirmation email with you when you come.

Local delivery

Deliveries are normally made from 7:00am – 17:00pm on Monday – Friday. We will contact you via text message with the phone number you provided at checkout to notify you on the day of our arrival.

How much grass seed do I need?

To work out how much grass seed you will need for your project simply choose your unit of measurement, from here you can select from metres, feet or yards. Then choose your desired seeding type; this can be either sowing or overseeding. To calculate how much you need, use our handy grass seed calculator.

How much grass fertiliser do I need?

First you need to work out the square footage of the area you’re fertilising. We have a range of bag sizes to meet the required square footage, for example:

1KG = 40m²

2KG = 80m²

5KG = 200m²

10KG = 400m²

20KG = 800m²

How do I get a luscious lawn year after year?

Over-seeding your lawn every year will help thicken and improve the look of your lawn. Ensure you use fertiliser as well as this will give your lawn the nutrients it needs to grow and fight off weeds and help fix bare patches.

How do I plant grass seed?

You can easily spread grass seed by hand or by using a spreader. Make sure you spread the seed evenly and avoid overseeding in one spot.

Can I use grass seed to repair my lawn?

How much of the ENVY lawn feed should I use on my lawn?

You should apply 25-35 grams per square meter of your lawn. Measure your lawn to calculate the total square meters and multiply by the application rate to determine the total amount needed.

Can I apply the fertiliser when my lawn is wet?

Yes, in fact, it’s recommended to apply the fertiliser on a damp lawn, but not when rain is expected imminently. If it’s hot or dry, water your lawn after applying the fertilizer.

How long does it take for the fertiliser to start working?

The fertiliser gets to work quickly, with results visible in as little as 7 days. It will continue to nourish your lawn for up to 12 weeks.

How much area does one bag of ENVY lawn feed cover?

One 2 kg bag covers between 57-80 square meters of lawn. Ensure you know your lawn size to determine how many bags you may require.

Are there any precautions I need to take when using fertiliser?

Yes, avoid getting the product on hard surfaces to prevent staining, as it contains iron. Also, wear gloves and a mask to avoid direct contact or inhalation of the product. Always wash your hands after use. Keep the bag away from children and pets.
