Founder Richard has been landscaping for sixteen years but started the business eleven years ago
and has always had a passion for gardening having begun his journey as an apprentice landscaper at just nineteen years of age, he said: “We’re a small two-man team and most of our work comes from word of mouth, we offer the full range of design through to construction and we also specialise in outdoor tiling, particularly porcelain paving.”
Working mainly in the residential sector and covering several counties, their work is highly skilled and focuses on bringing the indoors outdoors using modern contemporary design and the highest quality products.
Richard has been working with George Davies Turf for around ten years ever since discovering their St Albans branch. At that time, he didn’t have a reliable source of turf and was impressed with their service and quick turnaround – “It just worked out really well, a quick phone call and next day pick up made it really easy.”
Approached by a young family who had been slowly renovating a dated 1940’s house, Richard was tasked with a full redesign and construction for a run-down garden that was causing a safety risk for the couple’s young child. Taking around a month to complete, during extremely tough weather conditions, the team had the significant task of ripping out the entire garden, building a patio and wrap around step and installing brand new drainage.
The garden was completely transformed to create a modern, flat, low maintenance area that removed all previous trip hazards and ensured a safe environment the whole family could enjoy.
The outdoor space was expanded creating a beautiful additional area which featured a fully insulated garden office. During the work several issues were uncovered by the team which would have caused significant problems to the owners had they tried to undertake the project themselves, not to mention additional costs and stress.
After slowly renovating the house and having to wait several years to transform the daily eyesore that was their garden, the family were absolutely delighted with the results.
Richard used GDT turf to create the new lawn areas on this project and is currently working on a new garden design which will introduce their wildflower turf range to create a wildflower meadow.
Richard said, “GDT are our go to for turf, it’s easy to order and the product is consistent and good quality; I like being able to pick up myself and also have the option of delivery for bigger projects.
“I know its good quality turf too as when I revisit previous lawns I’ve laid its still thriving after several years. Their wildflower turf is great to work with, it looks stunning, grows really quick and only needs cutting once a year.”
