Burcote Style Ltd is a family-run business set up three and a half years ago by entrepreneurs Graeme and his fiancé Sophie.
As with many other start-ups, lockdown provided an opportunity to launch the business they had always dreamed of and they threw themselves passionately into building a reliable and respected landscaping and home improvements company from scratch.
With both Graeme and Sophie having backgrounds in the events industry with experience in project management, client relations, and event construction, the pair knew they had the essential skills required to create a successful and well-respected business.
Graeme said, “We had worked in the events industry for over 20 years travelling to the US, Canada and Europe, with me constructing and managing temporary structures in the live events industry and Sophie organising and managing large-scale conferences, exhibitions and events. We knew we were ready for our next challenge, and that we wanted to provide a high-quality service in an industry that is saturated with landscaping and home improvement companies. As a teenager, I’d done some landscaping work during the holidays and at weekends, and instantly developed a love for working outdoors. Years on, and after helping with my parent’s and several friend’s gardens, I bit the bullet and we launched Burcote Style Ltd.
“Within a very short space of time and solely through continued positive recommendations and word-of-mouth, we built up a great reputation around Towcester, Brackley and Buckingham. As an example of the effect of word-of-mouth recommendations, we even executed four projects for four different clients on the same street within 100 metres of each other.
“I strongly believe it’s our combined experience of project management and customer service, along with our pure hard work and commitment that has led to our success and 166% growth in just three and a half years of business. We’re honest and won’t suggest anything we don’t think is right for our clients. We treat every garden as if it were our own and take the time to ensure work is completed to a high standard and that our clients are happy. As a result, we have a loyal customer base which continues to go from strength to strength with continued recommendations.”
After seeing our posts on social media and receiving several recommendations, we were contacted by a client in Brackley who wanted to transform a tired space into a garden they could enjoy spending time in year after year. There were several features we needed to
work around including a character feature wall, and a large and well-established tree overhanging the garden. The latter had led to a dry and unhealthy lawn. It was therefore important to find the right products to use to showcase what was already in the garden.

Due to a slope in the garden, a substantial amount of soil needed to be removed in order to improve the soil quality and level the garden. We then installed a large patio using porcelain paving finished with a border of natural stone setts, to provide our client with the perfect entertaining and relaxation area.
Our client wanted to enclose the garden to provide more privacy, so we suggested the idea of a cedar slatted fence – which they liked and went ahead with. We replaced the existing gate with a bespoke cedar gate to match the new fence.
To ensure they could make use of their existing hot tub, we created a new patio area to relocate it to, and also installed a water feature to create interest and movement throughout the garden. Through discussions with our client, we helped them choose a plant supplier, to form a colourful flower border along the feature wall. We then laid a brand-new lawn to replace the existing one, of course using high-quality turf from George Davies Turf.
Lighting was installed into the character wall and an ACO drainage channel installed along the house to drain off surface water on the patio.
The result – a relaxing, beautifully transformed, low maintenance, private garden for entertaining friends and family.
