DELIVERY
Product is only half the story at George Davies; delivery and after-care are just as important. We want every single customer to feel looked after right from their very first contact with us.
We service the Bedford and St. Albans surrounding areas, with depots located in Olney and St. Albans that allow us to offer a prompt and efficient delivery service.
Each delivery of our RTF grass rolls is made on rigid trucks mounted with forklifts, allowing us to place your products exactly (within reason) where they suit you. Long, narrow tracks and gravel driveways are not a problem.
We can place bags around the back of your home, and all we ask is for 9 ft x 9 ft access to enable the forklifts to get through easily.
Our skilled drivers are highly trained and cool under pressure. If you have any limitations, please inform us at the time of order or add notes to your online order.

Use our turf calculator to determine how many RTF rolls you need for your project. Simply input your metrics, garden shape, and garden dimensions, and we’ll provide you with a recommended number of rolls.
Orders for delivery must be a minimum of 80 m².
You should lay your RTF Turf on the same day it’s delivered, or within 24 hours at the latest. This is because you’ll want to maintain the freshness and root health.
If you can’t lay it straight away, we recommend storing the turf in a shaded, cool spot, unrolling a few strips to release heat, and watering it lightly to prevent it from drying out.
Yes! RTF Turf produces rhizomes, which are underground stems that spread and fill bare spots in the grass.

We recommend waiting up to 3 weeks before enjoying your new turf. We have plenty of information about walking on your turf on our blog or over on our YouTube channel.
We understand you might need to walk on it to reach certain areas of your outdoor space, or even to water it. But we suggest walking on it as little as possible, avoiding the same path, and wearing smooth-soled shoes to minimise impact on its growth and appearance.
No, we never use plastic in our turf, which makes it an environmentally friendly choice for your facility, open space, or garden.
Yes! You can pick any day that we have availability to deliver your order. We deliver Monday through Friday.
You can drop your palette off at our depots, either in Olney or St Albans.
If you don’t want to do that, you can always recycle or upcycle the palette however you choose.
Not at all. If you have a specific location in mind where you’d like us to leave your order, please let us know in the order notes. You can even leave out a tarpaulin, wheelbarrow, or bin, etc, with a note saying, ‘Please leave here.’
