- Measure and Mark: Begin by accurately measuring and marking the dimensions of your patio to ensure clarity and precision.
- Excavate: Dig out the designated patio area to a depth of 200mm. This depth will accommodate the necessary sub-base and mortar layers.
Installation Guide
- Install the Sub-Base: Lay down a compacted sub-base, ensuring it reaches a depth of 150mm to provide a solid foundation for the paving.
- Create the Mortar Bed: Mix sharp sand and cement to create a mortar bed that is approximately 25mm thick.
- Position the Slabs: Carefully place the limestone paving slabs onto the mortar bed. Make sure each slab is level and that you maintain the desired spacing between the joints for a uniform appearance.
- Curing Time: Allow the mortar bed to cure for a minimum of 24 hours after the slabs have been laid to ensure stability.
- Joint Filling: Once the mortar has cured, fill the joints between the slabs with pointing material to achieve a polished finish.

- Regular Cleaning: Clean your limestone patio regularly to prevent the buildup of dirt and moss. Use a mild detergent and a soft brush to avoid damaging the stone’s surface.
